SSC CHSL Salary 2026 – Pay Scale, In-Hand Salary & Allowances

• HRA: 8–24% of basic pay based on city category (X/Y/Z)
• DA: ~50% of basic pay (revised bi-annually)
• Transport Allowance: ₹1,350 – ₹3,600 + DA
• CGHS Medical coverage for employee and family
• NPS: 10% employee + 14% government contribution
• Annual Earned Leave: 30 days + 8 Casual Leaves

CHSL recruits at Level 2/4 but there are clear promotion pathways. An LDC can become UDC (Level 4) in 3–5 years, then Assistant (Level 6) in another 5–8 years. Departmental exams and LDCE (Limited Departmental Competitive Exam) enable faster promotions.
