RRB ALP Eligibility Criteria 2026 — ITI/Diploma, Age & Medical

ALP requires trade-specific technical qualification:

• 10th Pass + ITI (NCVT/SCVT) in relevant trade, OR
• 10th Pass + Course Completed Act Apprenticeship in relevant trade, OR
• 10th Pass + Diploma in Engineering / Technology (3-year) in relevant discipline, OR
• Degree in Engineering in relevant discipline (B.Tech/B.E.)

Age calculated as of 1st July of the notification year:

ALP medical standards are stricter than other Railway posts — Medical Category A2:

• Vision: 6/6 or 6/9 unaided — spectacles NOT permitted for Loco Pilot duties
• Colour Vision: Must pass Ishihara test — colour blindness disqualifies from ALP
• Hearing: Normal in both ears
• No squint, no night blindness, no field of vision defect
• General fitness: No chronic illness affecting driving duties
• Height/Weight: No specific requirement but BMI should be healthy
